IMPLEMENTATION

How SCALE Works

A simple progression from guided practice to independent communication — delivered through a structured school partnership.

MODEL

The instructor models the language, pronunciation, task and expected response.

PRACTISE

Students practise with prompts, partners, activities and immediate feedback.

INTERACT

Students work in pairs or groups, using English in meaningful situations and with varied peers.

COMMUNICATE

Students use the language more independently, with reduced support and greater confidence.

Flexible group structure

SCALE does not assume a fixed class combination. Depending on class strength and the principal's preference, two or three grade groups may be combined for selected activities. This creates a more diverse practice environment and gives students more opportunities to communicate with different peers.

POA Programme

Our POA programme provides structured observation of communication behaviours and progress. It looks beyond an English-subject exam to indicators such as understanding instructions, responding appropriately, using relevant English, participating in pair/group interaction, speaking clearly and asking for clarification.

How we measure impact

We observe students at the start, repeat the same indicators over time and provide an evidence-based progress summary for the school.
