WHAT IS SCALE?

Communication, not just English.

SCALE is a structured school programme for practical English communication.

Its purpose is simple: give students repeated opportunities to listen, understand, respond, speak and interact in meaningful classroom situations.

SCALE does not replace the English subject. It creates structured opportunities to use the English students are learning through activity-based, student-centred and real classroom communication practice.

THE COMMUNICATION GAP

Knowing English is not the same as using it.

Students may know English but struggle with spoken instructions, spontaneous answers, vocabulary, pronunciation or real-life communication. SCALE creates repeated opportunities to practise those behaviours in a supportive school environment.

WHAT DOES SCALE DO?

Turns English knowledge into communication practice.

Builds confidence

Students get regular opportunities to speak, respond and participate instead of remaining passive learners.

Strengthens fluency

Guided practice helps students use functional vocabulary, pronunciation and spoken English more naturally.

Improves interaction

Pair work, group activities, questions, role-play and classroom situations make communication purposeful.

PHONICS AS A SCALE USP

From sound awareness to communication.

A key SCALE differentiator is the deliberate integration of phonics into communication practice. Rather than treating phonics only as an early-literacy tool, SCALE connects sound awareness with pronunciation, listening and speaking.

Students work with letter sounds, common sound patterns, word pronunciation, difficult sound combinations, stress and intonation, and reading aloud — then use that learning in real communication.

Hear → notice → practise → pronounce → communicate.

POA PROGRAMME

Measure communication progress, not just English marks.

Our POA programme uses observable communication behaviours to track progress over time — understanding instructions, responding appropriately, using relevant English, participating in pair or group interaction, speaking clearly and asking for clarification.

FLEXIBLE GROUPING

More diverse practice, based on the school.

SCALE can combine two or three grade groups for selected activities when the class strength and principal's preference make it appropriate. The purpose is to give students a wider range of peers to communicate with, while keeping the grouping practical for the school.

HOW SCALE WORKS

From support to independent communication.

MODEL

The instructor models the language, pronunciation, task and expected response.

PRACTISE

Students practise with prompts, partners, activities and immediate feedback.

INTERACT & COMMUNICATE

Students work with varied peers and gradually use English more independently in meaningful situations.

The programme includes structured lesson plans, trainer-led sessions, free worksheets and test sheets, continuous appraisal of student progress, baseline and progress observations, and school-level reporting.

WHAT WE AIM TO ACHIEVE

Students who can use English — not simply study it.

Our aim is visible growth in confidence, participation, fluency and everyday classroom communication through consistent practice and evidence-based progress tracking.
