Phonics is not an add-on in SCALE. We use it as a bridge from sound awareness to clearer communication.
Many English programmes focus on vocabulary, grammar or conversation alone. SCALE deliberately integrates phonics and pronunciation into communication practice, helping students connect what they hear with what they say.
Students work with letter sounds, common sound patterns, word pronunciation, difficult sound combinations, stress and intonation, and reading aloud.
Better sound awareness can support pronunciation, listening discrimination and confidence when students speak. The aim is not to turn communication lessons into phonics drills — it is to use phonics where it can make communication clearer and more effective.
Hear → notice → practise → pronounce → use in context.
